BlueChew – Review

Lots of men don’t like talking about ED. In fact, a survey we conducted in 20181 found that 40% of men are not comfortable talking to their doctors about erectile dysfunction. That means that men maynot be getting the correct diagnosis and treatment for their problem.

BlueChew is one of several companies that have recently launched to take the embarrassment and hassle out of getting ED medications. Their service connects you with a licensed doctor online so you can get a prescription for your ED meds.

Because of state licensing restrictions, BlueChew is currently not available in all states.

Dr. Alex Jovanovich (Dr J), who graduated from the Rosalind Franklin University – Chicago Medical School, is listed as a co-founder and Chief Medical Officer for BlueChew, as well as for and

Signing Up at BlueChew

When you sign up at, you’ll be asked to fill out a comprehensive medical questionnaire. There are questions about your ED, but also a lot of questions about your medical history, medical condition, and other medications you are using. It’s very important that you answer these questions honestly. If you don’t, the doctor may miss a serious medical issue, or prescribe something that will be dangerous for you.

You’ll also need to submit a recent full-face photo of yourself, and well as a photo of a government ID such as a driver’s license or passport.

Finally, you’ll have a chance to submit any questions you may have.

In some states, BlueChew may require you to have a short telephone or video chat with the doctor.

Unlike some competitors, BlueChew does not charge a fee for this consultation.

Although BlueChew does not accept insurance payments, the company complies with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) requirements to safeguard your privacy.

Ordering Your Medications

Bluechew allows you to place a monthly order to either sildenafil (the active ingredient in Viagra) or tadalafil (the active ingredient in Cialis). There is some information about the two drugs on the BlueChew website, but if you’re not familiar with them, you should decide ahead of time which you want to try. (See our Comparison of Oral Medications for ED.)

You can also select a plan, which determines how many pills per month you will receive. You can change plans at any time.

Your order won’t be filled until a doctor reviews your medical information and approves your prescription. BlueChew says this process can take up to 2 business days (in my case it took about 3 1/2 hours). The approval and the notice that my order had been shipped arrived almost simultaneously. If your prescription is not approved, you’ll be notified of this by email, along with next steps. Sometimes the doctor will just want more information or a clarification. In a very few cases, the doctor may recommend that you not take oral medications for ED, and refer you to your own doctor.

When Your Order Arrives

Your BlueChew order will arrive in an inconspicuous package. Note that, since the medication is prepared by difference pharmacies, the packaging may vary.

Within the package, you’ll find a resealable pouch containing your medications. You’ll also find safety instructions. Be sure to read these instructions before using the BlueChew tablet!

The resealable pouch contains small foil packets; each contains one BlueChew tablet. The tablet has a sort of sweet-sour taste with a medicinal edge. They take effect in about half an hour, just like conventional sildenafil and tadalafil tablets.
